Maybe you found a box of old reels in the attic and are thinking of selling them - and you're looking to find out how much they're worth.

So, what's your View Master stuff worth? This question gets asked a lot.

This page is a basic starting point to determining what View Master related items might be worth. There is no definitive price guide to View Master collectibles any more - so consider this a basic starting point to determining what your View Master collection might be worth.

View Master Viewers

The viewer is the toy that you load a reel into and look through to see the 3D pictures. Most of them are pretty common and not worth very much - but there are all kinds of different viewers that were made over the years - and some of them are quite valuable. Here is a good guide to the View Master viewers you can use to figure out which one you have.

• Most basic View Master viewers sell for between $5 and $25.
• The model D viewer is the most valuable - the model D viewer sells for Over $100.
• The model K viewer might sell for between $50 and $100.

View Master Single Reels

Single View Master reels were produced over many decades - they usually came in little envelopes - and over the years there were many changes to their style. Certain single reels are very rare and valuable - but 99% of them are not.

Single reels are worth $1 to $4.

There are some very collectible reels that you might want to look out for:

• 1305 - President Kennedy's Visit to Ireland June 1963
• 401 - Girl Scouts Serve Their Country
• 575 - Varadero Beach Cuba
• 3D Movie "Preview" Reels
• "Internal" Reels - made for internal use at Sawyers or GAF, like "Merry Christmas" or "Stockholder's Report"

For single reels it is often best to check eBay - but make sure you filter for COMPLETED sales so that you see the actual price the item sold for.

View Master Packets

View Masters also came in 3 reel packets - often with little books describing the reels in more detail.

Common packets are worth $2 to $10 each.

Sealed packets might be worth more - and packets from non US countries may also be more collectible.

There are some very collectible packets that you might want to look out for:

• Popular movies or TV Shows - Adams Family, Munsters, Green Hornet, Dune, TRON
• Popular bands - KISS, Cheap Trick
• Popular cartoons - Tintin, Dungeons & Dragons, Real Ghostbusters

Like for single reels, it is often best to check eBay - but make sure you filter for COMPLETED sales so that you see the actual price the item sold for.

Other Things

There are other items related to View Master that could be valuable. Most of the projector toys that were available are not worth very much. But there are some older items that have value.

• Stereomatic 500 3D projector - this is worth Over $200
• Personal stereo cameras - for taking your own 3D pictures - these are worth $100 - $200
• Complete collectible sets - boxed sets that included reels and a viewer - like Real Ghostbusters - can be worth Over $100
